1. Where is the treasurer’s office located?
The office is located in the administrative offices of Oconee County @ 415 South Pine Street, Walhalla, SC 29691. MAP

2. What are the office hours?
The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am until 5:00 pm.

3. What is the telephone # for the Auditor’s and Assessor’s offices?

4. I have not received my registration and decal for my vehicle. What do I do?
If it has been more than ten days since the property taxes have been paid, take your paid tax receipt to any DMV (department of motor vehicle) office to obtain them.

5. What is a dealer notice?
When a vehicle is purchased from a SC licensed dealer and a new tag is purchased; the property taxes are due 120 days after the date of sale. The dealer sends an affidavit of sale to the DMV, it is then forwarded to the Auditor’s office where a tax notice is created and then mailed to address given on the affidavit.

6. Where do I pay sales tax?
Sales tax for newly purchased vehicles is paid at any DMV office. Note: property tax must be paid before the purchase of new tag, with the exception of vehicles purchased through a SC licensed dealer.

7. What types of payments are accepted?
Form of payment accepted in office = CASH OR CHECKS
